Welcome to gallery page Pyramids 1997
It was only a few weeks after the attacks in Luxor, so it was easy to get a last minute flight at the end of November. A co-worker, Stefan Wamser, travelled with me.
On the evening of our arrival the first riddle was solved. It was about the Orion Correlation Hypothesis from Robert Bauval, who claims that the belt of the constellation of Orion in the sky looks exactly as the pyramids in Giza on the ground. As above, so below. Stefan read the book on our flight to Cairo, and in the evening we climbed onto the roof of a bungalow of our hotel, from where we had a perfect view from the north to the pyramids and Orion just behind.
Stefan looked at the pyramids, then at Orion, back to the pyramids, and mumbled "I hope they had guarantee on this and got their money back" - because, clearly visible, the pyramids and Orion's belt run crosswise.
